Well it blog hopping time again...and the theme - First Day of Autumn. NOW I love me some fall weather....I love when it's sunny but cool and crisp...and I even love when it rains and I can curl up with a blanket, book or watch a movie and light a candle....

To me it means the start of the holiday season, I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas...here are a couple of cards using The Angel Company retired stamps - that seems so weird for me to say "retired" as I love the stamps so much....hope these bring a little Autumn to your day.

Girls Weekend - Salem OR

Wow...has it really been a week since my girls roadtrip to Salem Or??? Why yes it has.

I headed to Heather's and then we were off to Salem, to meet up with the gals from WA, OR, ID, MT and CA for a crafting fun weekend. Usually, we go on Friday and participate in the trading of cards, and the shoe box projects...this year...we weren't gonna go...and then with the closing of the Angel Company...we decided, last minute to hit the road to at least be able to see everyone for one last time....just in case it didn't happen next year.

There was shopping, purchasing, eating out, meeting new people, stopping at the ghetto lq store...lol...lots of laughs, texting, facebooking, shopping, learning new things, more purchasing....yummy food....more laughs and good coffee.

The next thing I knew....I was back home - weekend over.

I must say that the last two weeks...everything seems to finally be falling back into place. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....and it is NOT a train...whew....

What an AWESOME week

WOW...I can't believe it's already Friday. This week has gone by so quickly and yet it's been freaking awesome.

Monday and Tuesday were typical normal days....and then Wednesday...was a full day. Went to work, took my car for emissions testing...PASSED....stopped at the radio station and saw some of my fav peeps...then to the doctor's office.

Had a great appointment....good test results got all my meds refilled..and then off to meet the gals at the KEG. What fun that was...it was soo good to catch up and just chat. FUN TIMES...then off to see

The Help with DIVA.....great movie....good to see her and catch up and then it was time to go home....

Thursday was another great day.....another drs appt - all good there...and then met the Cable Guy for my tv - got everything squared away...Tanzy even flirted with the guy....lol....he has to come back in a week but no biggie....minor dealio.

Got the new guy all moved into the apartment - yeah!!!! and then it was time....

Then the smokin hot Vampire Diaries season premiere - all I can say is HELLOOOO DAMON!!!

Went to QFC afterwards to get breakfast/lunch stuff for work on Friday...got some yummy rasberries to share with the boss man....

And it's FRIDAY - it's been busy but I got coffee this morning....and it's gonna be a great rest of the day.....

Another weekend gone by....

Well, it's Sunday evening. The weekend was good, relaxing and way too quick. I didn't get all that I wanted done, but I made a good dent. And really, that's all that matters...right???

This week should prove to be a good one, and a busy one for sure. I am anxiously awaiting a fun Wednesday. I am of course going to work, I have a drs appointment and then I am meeting some friends from my old job for happy hour....and then.....

It's movie time with DIVA. WE are gonna go see the Help. I am really looking forward to seeing that movie and spending some time with DIVA.

Thursday...will be another busy day.....I've got another dr's appt. and then a new tenant moving in...and then....the Vampire Diaries season premiere. Yippeee!!!!!!!!!

Friday...ugh....final walk around the building with the painters....hopefully the few things they have to finish will get done....ugh....want that all to be done with...really it's about time.

Anyways....here's to a great week...a busy week and a potential roadtrip....

Wow...so much has happened in the last 3+ weeks. Some good, some bad, some challenging and well some time consuming.

I have had a few hard lessons learned...but life is good overall. I know that I have to have a positive outlook, even if it looks totally bleak. I have to remember it's not my fault, as I always try to "fix" everything for everyone. Some things just are not in my control. And most importantly patience.

I think I have learned these lessons again, for now...lol...and life is starting to settle down. I am hoping to finish a few things that I need to finish so that I can actually "relax" and "enjoy".

I was so happy to be able to make some cards for my dear Aunt Serina for her birthday later this month. I have never made her any cards for her to use. Why?? I really don't know. Could it be I was afraid she wouldn't like them? use them? Really??? Whatever, she loves the cards I send to her for the holidays so why wouldn't she love some to use. I guess I just let life and fear get in the way....I am excited to send these to her for her birthday....

I had such a relaxing time the other day with my bff...we just chatted and rolled bakers twine for hours....it was nice to get out of town and just spend some time with her. I really needed that break. I am looking forward to our upcoming roadtrip...it's kinda a secret so I won't tell you the destination or the info yet....but will report when I get back...lol...

Anyways....here's to a great rest of the week, a short week. Here's hoping I get lots done by Friday...and that the weather is not too hot!

PaperWings Blog Hop - Tribute to TAC

Hello and thank you for stopping by today. Today is PaperWings tribute blog hop to The Angel Company and Mischelle Smith, founder.

I have been having a hard time putting to words what The Angel Company has meant to me. See, I became a stamper quite by accident. I was trying to make new friends at work and so I attended a stamp camp by another company and instantly became hooked on stamping. I went online and found a yahoo group where I joined and started doing cards swaps. I joined another yahoo group and met an Angel, and the rest they say is history.

I was a customer for a while and then became a demonstrator...and my life truly changed. I had a creative outlet. I was able to share my love of crafting with others. I have met some amazing people through this outlet. Whether it was teaching workshops, teaching classes in the local stamp store or at a large church event...it has been so full-filling. As I am not sure what I'm going to do right now, I'm going to enjoy the detour....

My first card is one of my new favorites...It's called Mama Wants. I used the We R Memory Keepers Twist Trimmer to do the ruffles. I used More Mimi paper, and copics, and added some Via Decor Pearl pen.

My next card is using Vintage Rides and the yummy Bazzill Smoothies card stock. I was inspired by Angela Kelley's card when I made this....thanks Angela for always having inspiring cards!

This next card uses New Creation....simple card, but so pretty in person. I used Crackle Accents on the clocks....cool product!

This next card uses Modern Mix...and is inspired by Mischelle Smith herself...she had demo'd this set using the chalkboard method and I just had to try it. I actually was video'd coloring this card at an Operation Write Home event by the local tv station.

And my final card is a card my dad and I worked on together. See he likes to stamp with me as well. The set is Good Things...

Well, it's finally Saturday...it has been a busy week at work, and on the homefront, they are still painting the apartment building. I don't know if they ever are going to finish. Hmmmmm.

I finally sent out a note to my customers about TAC hanging up their wings. It was hard. I haven't heard anything back, but that's typical of my group of gals. LOL. It is what it is.

Hump Day

WOW...it's amazing how fast this week has gone so far. The apartment building is still getting painted...but hopefully it will be done on Friday before Labor Day...YEAH!

Work is good, lots to keep me busy...reports, reports, reports...decks, decks, decks and 2012 budget planning oh my!

Anyways....some sad news. The Angel Company has officially hung up their wings, and closed. I was very lucky to be an angel for the past 7 years. The Angel Company was a great stamp company to work for. I was encourged to be creative and spread my wings...I have made some amazing friendships and am glad that they will be there for the long haul.

There will be more about TAC on Sunday when I participate in the PaperWings Blog Hop on Sunday.

WOW...so much has happened since I last blogged. I'm not really sure why I stopped blogging but I did. I am still working, and loving my job...Tanzy is adorable...love her sooo much. I'm still managing my apartment building. I'm still stamping - I haven't done much jewelry making...but soon perhaps.

Well my mommy has had a few requests to update her blog, but she's been really really busy. SO I decided I would "help".

I've been having lots of fun while mommy is at work. I have a new game. I jump from the headboard to the middle of the bed and then I jump up onto the footboard and jump to the middle of the bed and keep doing it over and over and over again. I really like to do this when mommy is still sleeping, it wakes her up....meow....

Mommy has been leaving not only the living room shade up but the dining room shade as well, so I can look out onto the street and see all the people walking by. I also see racoons...eeewwww and then there is this white and black cat that sits on sidewalk and looks up at me in the window.

Lately Tony who cleans the apartment building for mommy has been bringing his son Ben who is five. Ben likes to play with me....and boy does he wear me out. Last time he came and played with me he gave me soooo many treats that I think I went into carb overload and was extra tired. Mommy was so nice to me when she got home and saw how tired I was. She carried me everywhere...boy is she a good mommy.

Today Emil the handyman came to fix mommy's bathroom fan. Emil is really nice. I helped Emil. He was using one of mommy's chairs to stand on to fix the fan. When he got down, I jumped onto the chair to keep it warm while he was gone...then when it was time for Emil to get back on the chair I would just meow...and Emil would pick me up and put me on the floor...and we played this game for a couple of times.

Anyways.....oh and exciting news....grandma and grandpa are gonna come down for dinner again...boy will I be spoiled again. Grandma gives mommy a can of tuna fish for me everytime she goes to visit and grandpa gave mommy a can of cat food last time...boy am I a spoiled girl.

Well mommy needs to make lunch for work tomorrow, so I guess I should go help her...and then its time for bed. I love sleeping on mommy's new comforter it is sooo pretty and soft and warm.

WOW...were did the week go???

I rocked it at work this week. I did so much on Wed, Thurs and Friday....it felt great. Awesome!!!

I'm getting into the groove of the new gig, and the new routine...so far 5 days in and ready and raring for more.

I left a note for the UPS driver today...total butter up job....I'll upload the picture from my phone later....and not only did both boxes of my TAC order get inside the building - BUT they were in front of my door...UPS ROCKS....

I can't believe how much stuff I ended up getting....I am in 7th heaven!!!

I'm heading to Heather's on Saturday and hopefully will have an apartment showing. I've got some stuff to get done before next week....and shopping for my party...and well....grocery shopping for lunch next week and laundry!

Express what???

Awe...Tuesday. A much better day on the bus....I took the express in the am and also on the way home. There was a traffic incident on the way home and the bus was running 15 mins late...but I still got home and was upstairs by 6:15 mo better.

I got my phone hooked up at work today...found the post office inside the building...and went to the bank inside the building...how handy.

Wednesday will be a busy day. My office mate will be in and I will be learning all the stuff that I can help her with....and hopefully my new computer will be here by the end of the week. I know that my boss is waiting for me to start taking over his reports....and well so am I.

Anyways....gotta get stuff ready for tomorrow....hopefully more entries and maybe a few pictures as well....

OMG...i almost forgot my huge TAC order will be here on Friday yeah!!! I'm heading to Heather's on Saturday and will bring the new stuff to show and tell....and I've got to get ready for my stamp workshop on Sunday...and eeeks....my party a week from Saturday....eeeeks!

Which bus do I take where???

WOWZA....Monday morning...up and at em. Time to take the bus. What the??? LOL...so I managed to get onto the correct bus number but I took the local when I should have taken the express....lesson learned...ugh it was so crowded and hot really in January...I thought I was gonna melt.

I got off at the correct stop downtown, make it to the building, changed and made it to my office in one piece. Seriously. My first day was good sort of uneventful work wise...I don't have all my stuff yet, computer, phone, email, but I do have a key and an office that locks with a window. SWEET!

Had lunch at my desk, and did a few personal things, I will be bringing a book and my ipod for sure.

Bus ride home was tragic. A stalled car on the ballard bridge made it painful - left at 7am this morning and got home upstairs at 7pm...12 freakin hours - really??? I know it will get much better I just need to have faith and remember to breath!

SO I'm only gonna bring my wallet, my lunch bag and my big bag...with my change of cloths...we will see if it is much more "lighter" in the am....and my orca card should be working....as I called and got it "fixed" so hopefully the bus driver won't give me the evil eye like he did this am when I paid with cash.

Night all....gotta get a good nights sleep!

What a whirlwind...

Well...here it is Sunday evening and what a freakin awesome busy weekend!

First off....I start my new job on Monday morning...yes tomorrow...yikes....and I'll be taking the Metro bus - which I haven't done in years....so stay tuned for lots of stories on that adventure.

I signed all my paperwork for my new job on Friday....I think I signed Tanzy away...sorry kitty...I got my dfly lamp that I had seen right before I got laid off...and I got it ... last one...yeah me and it was even $30 bucks cheaper...wahoo! My new tenant signed his paperwork.

I did a bit of shopping...and such.......make a turkey meatball soup with rice...yummo! And let's see....got all my invites out for my party...wahooo!!! Finally!

AND I placed 2 TAC orders for the new Serendipity Catalog...love that it goes live 12Mid Central time as I was able to order after 10pm here! YIPPEEE!!! I have a ton of stuff that will be for me...I can't wait, new stamps, new nestibilities, new free stamps....and lots of other goodies!!!

Anyways....gotta pack my lunch and get ready for bed....as I am sure 5:30 will come early and since I really have to get up...lol...better get to it!

Who knew...

So today I made a decision to open up another bank account. Here's a little history, back in August I was doing a bit of shopping for my outfit to wear to my sweet grandma's funeral. I was at store purchasing a pair of shoes when my visa debit card was denied. Really? SO I wrote a check and headed to the car to call the bank.

When I got in the car, the bank was actually calling me....telling me that there had been a suspicious charge attempted on my card so they shut it down so I won't get jacked. I was happy that they caught it, but grumpy that I would be without my faithful trusty visa debit card for up to 10 days...what the??? Anyways, I went to the bank grabbed a bunch of cash and they headed to Spokane. After coming home a couple days later new card showed up. I had decided on the trip to Spokane, that I would open up a separate bank account at another bank in case that happened again, and use if for all my purchases to the Angel Company with my customer orders. Well you know how it goes....got busy forgot about it.....

Until....last Thursday. It happened again...so I have been operating on cash and checks the last week and after doing a bit of research, I opened another account at a different bank for all my Angel Company customer purchases...and of course, when I got home, my new replacement visa debit card was in the mail. BUT now it's done...so no worries about being "cardless" again.

I also went to the new QFC across the street to pick up a few groceries and bought a kitty toy for the princess....its a purple fish, with long pink feather tails and a bell on it....i gave it to Tanzy when I got home, and she has been playing with it ever since...and that was 30 minutes ago...well with the $2.99.

Anyways....off to do something....

Cards, Cards and more cards

This last Sunday, I had my customer workshop at the infamous Roundtable. Here are the cards that we made. All stamps, paper and ink are from The Angel Company. On the tree, I used a product called flower soft, I need to put more on, as the gals kept looking and feeling the texture and most of it fell off...oh well.

Hello out there! I know it's been about 6 months since I last blogged. Lots has happened.

My sweet grandma passed away this summer, and then I was laid off from work. After the shock and awe wore off...well....I made some changes to my life.

I started to re-do, de-clutter and re-organize my life and apartment. I had my apartment repainted, and got rid of lots of stuff...and my apartment is almost put back together the way I want it.

I still have a few things left to do and I really need to get them done by Sunday...as I start my new job on MONDAY...Finally!!!

I also got a kitty. She is 8 months old and soooo sooo cute. Anyways, I have got my desk/computer set up just the way I want it and it seems that I should be able to post more here now. Or that is my goal. Anyways....here's the kitty....isn't she cute?

WOW....what a week....it's been busy. I had a very full weekend. I had lots of "dates" as you might say lol....okay viewings of the apartments over the weekend. I did manage to rent one of the units. YEAH ME!!

I went and saw RICO on Saturday morning....totally killed me....and I didn't help myself either...he was gone for a bit so I continued with the diagonal crunches...what the????

I met up with DIVA for breakfast at Julia's which was a nice break....a very needed break...then back to the apartment I went....to "date" for 7 hours straight...for the love of Pete....

I did manage to treat myself the other day to Showtime....$7.99 a month special....so I watched all of Season 3 of Dexter...love that show....

Was hoping to catch up with an old friend over the weekend...but that didn't happen, maybe this weekend.

I've got my Scrappin Friendzy this weekend on Saturday....and then I'm heading to Spokane for a day or so...to visit my sweet granny. She's back in the hospital and not doing so well...

My 40th Birthday - Twilight Style

So Saturday the 11th was my 40th bday. Really? Seriously? 40th? WOWZA....anyways I decided I wanted to do something very different....I mean really for my 30th bday party, I had all my buddies at the Eagle Eye Cherry concert at the showbox and my party backstage....oh the days of record reps and radio....so 40 had to be memorable. Really.

So I was surfing the internet and found The View Point Inn and saw that they were having a dvd release party but it was sold out.....and that they had added another one on my bday. It was immediately what I wanted to do. SO I called Heather and mentioned it to her....she was immediately on the Twilight bandwagon. So that was what we were gonna do.

SO if you haven't read Twilight...you must go read it now. If you haven't seen the movie...stop reading and go rent it now. Oh Edward....although pastey - is definately a lotta hot!!!

Heather and I invited Anissa to come with us....and so the 3 of us called and made our reservations. We decided to dress up for the occassion....why not??? AND so the plans were made.

A Twilight 4 course menu awaited us....and a viewing of the movie...what could be more perfect.

Our road trip was fun and very relaxing....it was nice to escape...from the apartments and the fact that I couldn't close anything...ugh...

The Inn was amazing. The view breath-taking. The food AMAZING...I had a chamborg komie and was in heaven. The dessert...I can still taste it....the movie of course...dreamy....lol.

While we were there I ran into a couple of DL's friends Kathy and Suzi...who I have run into from time and time again at CKC Portland and at other stamping/scrapbooking events....ie Donna Downeys class.

April Showers....

Lots has been going on since I last checked in.

Still trying to rent a couple of apartments....I've decided it's like internet or speed dating....you put out a little ad, you talk on the phone for a bit...and then you meet...and hope well that you get called back. As my brother reminded me....you ask for a deposit instead of a blood test. Great. Leave it to the big bro to keep it real. Seriously.

I had a rough week, covering the phones and such....such drama hate when people call in sick all the time....especially when they know we are shorthanded. Seriously. Oh well....

I had a workout with RICO...which was fun...of course...and then a bit of shopping, and then back home to show the apartments some more.

Let's see....I had my hostess club get together...which went fabulous....MEME showed up!!! yeah MeMe. We made the same cards as the gals from work, which are posted below....The cupcake is the total hit!!! Love love love that card!

And then...the excitement....my 40th bday was fast approaching.....wow who knew??? The week started out great....Heather and I went and saw Knowing...Nick Cage...Yumo! The week really flew by....we had a pot luck on Friday at work, which was a total blast....I made my now famous turkey chili...thanks DIVA for the great dish....I carpooled with B-Rad...we got coffee....and then to work. I got a dozen long stem red roses from Bill (previous boss) and the pot luck...and then on the way home...B-Rad got me the Twilight soundtrack and we listened to it on the way home...and then.....It was Saturday.

So I survived Monday. Work was good, busy...had to cover the phones for a bit...nice break.

Its amazing how easily one can get sucked back into a routine...we make these promises to ourselves to protect our emotions, and then out of some sense of obligation and/or guilt we do what we promised we wouldn't. I have been struggling with this for sometime now. I know it will get easier but it's still hard right now...I did however, keep myself guarded to a point...and felt okay afterwards....but still....seriously...will I ever learn???

Anyways...I did get home okay....and got ready for a viewing of the apartments...and then the phone rang....at least she called...we did reschedule - so I decided to just relax and do a bit of stamping. I realized when I was packing for last Friday I still had a few card kits left from my February hostess club....so I made em up. I decided to send one to my sweet grandma and let her know exactly how much I love her...TONS! Anyways...I don't think I posted this earlier..so here it is...enjoy!

Catching up with Creativity

WOW.....

Spring is trying to bloom....but with the rain and cold....who knows if it will ever show up. Lots of things have been happening.....let's see...

Been busy at work and trying to rent apartments....seriously. Twilight came out on dvd, and I finally got my copy....yeah Team Edward....lol....I've had a bad cold/cough so I've been dealing with that...seriously will it go far far away....and hummm....Oh I made a really cool magnetic frame with Heather and the Maple Valley girls.....I need to get a picture of it up here....and I've had a creative spurt lately.

I made cards for my sister in law Renee for her birthday using a Just Rite Stamper...I didnt use a border, just the letter...and what else, Oh I had a get together for the gals from work for a bit of stamping on Friday night.....and Heather and Annissa came so that was fun....Cindy and I got together on Saturday as she couldn't go on Friday and stamped at the office....I made some cards for a swap on Paper Wings....and the cards from Friday I am also using for my hostess club on Sunday....which MeMe is gonna come...yeah!!!!

I am doing okay, just tired of late. Grandma is doing better, so that helps...it would be fabulous if I could rent an apartment....I'm gonna try and go to the April social on Saturday evening with my fellowship group....and I'm really gonna try and go to church on Sunday....haven't been for a little while....ugh.....but that's okay....My 40th bday is coming and I've got lots of goodness planned for that....yes, I am looking forward to a special dinner....I'll tell you more....later....Anyways....here's all the card goodness....

WOW....

Lots to catch up on.....Let's see...

CKC was a blast, road trip was HIsterical...classes were good, shopping fabu, ran into another angel Tammy, craft warehouse awesome, michaels yeah gift card, thank you I'll get the purple flowers in the cool tin...lol...and then SONIC... OMG! Love it! There was rain, sun, fog, sleek, and snow on the trip....what the??? Called the squirrel guy....cuz I could lol...won 2 sets of Nestibilities - yeah me! We hit Starbucks a ton of times....gotta love the gift card hook up! Sweet!

Things have been crazy at the building...it's like a mass exitdous....seriously...lol oh well..no more squirrels....been busy having fun....had a great weekend....headed down to Heather's just to pick up my stamp order so I could show my gals on Sunday...sold a ton of stuff...yeah! And well...today it's St. Patricks Day....I put on a little potluck for my staff, lots of fun...made my turkey chili...totally a crowd pleaser...totally gonzo...lol.

Grandma is doing better....day by day....and well I'm okay. I've got a fun busy weekend coming up and I am really really looking forward to it.

Heading to CKC

Wahoo....

Let the countdown begin....in approximately 17 hours I will be hitting the road to head to CKC in Portland for a couple of classes and a bit of shopping...It will be a quick trip, a fun trip and a great roadtrip with my buddy Heather.

Usually I head down on Thursday and take classes on Friday and head home on Saturday....but this year...it's a bit of a switch...just going for the day. On the way home, we will be hitting Craft Warehouse and the of course...SONIC....wahoo!!

Grandma is stable - thank goodness....and I know she would want me to go...as she has always been my biggest fan of my artwork.

My dear sweet Grandma was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon. Things are not looking to hopeful at this time. Her kidneys have started to shut down. Darn those kidneys.

Anyways...please keep this very sweet woman who has lived a very long and healthy life and full of love in your prayers...she so deserves not to suffer.

YEAH is all I can say!! We started this morning off with about 2 inches of snow in lovely Ballard. Seriously? Are you kidding me??? Anyways, by the time I left for work, the roads were clear and wet, slushing in some areas...but it was totally driveable to work. I did bring my snow boots (Thanks Pops) just in case. I must admit, those are the best for the money I paid on a random shopping trip with Pops!!!

I've got lots of bdays this week - well actually today. A shout out to Little Pumpkin *LP* - Happy bday buddy!!! It's Diva's bday and Siggys at work. I won't show what I made LP yet, or Diva for that matter...but here's Siggy's cards...Again I used the Just Rite Stamper for the "S" I didn't use a border. The scan's a bit short...but you get the idea. I love keeping the cards simple and different, as I am making them for a lot of people at work for their bdays...SO Happy Bday DIVA and Siggy!!!

I'm all dressed up today. I haven't worn a skirt/blouse combo to work for sometime now...it feels good to be dressed up....must get in the habit again...

AND MY PACKAGE has SHIPPED from the Angel Co...it's slated to be here next Tuesday. BOY oh Boy. I'm getting some NEW Stamps from Heather today (we did an order earlier) and then next Tuesday..I'm on cloud 9...yeah!!!

WOW...what a day. It started out really rough....and became wonderful and now is trying to end on an uneven plane....what the???

Well...the squirrels are back. Fortunately for me...TAR is being actually nice and understanding and not yelling/bullying me. Thank You!

The remolded unit is finished. Yeah. Finally. I just have some minor details to finish. Yeah!

TAC is fulfilling orders from the 9th. YEAH. That means - hopefully - fingers crossed my order will ship this Friday. YEAH...no need to Rush It. Yeah.

Finally got the approval to get the trees cut. Yeah....now just waiting for the tree guy to call back. Then get the trees cut, then the hole patched...no more squirrels. YEAH!

Had a very crazy morning at work....day has been strange as well....oh well....and then the floor started shaking again....they are building a new building next to ours...and I feel motion sick from it...for the love of pete.

Got to get a few things at the store tonight...and then home it is....

Just another "Manic Monday" remember that song??? Well the weekend was busy and yet somewhat relaxing.

I think I have finally gotten rid of most of my cold...it's trying to hang on...but I say NO. Friday I basically came home and crashed...long week especially not feeling too hip all week. Saturday, got up did a few things around the apt and did a few outside errands...did a few little projects and hit the sack.

Sunday....was pretty lazy - guess I'm tired....I did manage to do a few things around the apartment...and spent a great deal of time dealing with the R-Contractor...finally the unit is done...for the love of Pete. Tony's gonna do a final clean today...basically just the bathroom...and then we will be good to go.

Still dealing with the squirrel issue...I think we've got all the little guys...BUT I'm still waiting for approval to get the trees trimmed and the hole patched up...seriously...ugh...and another tennant is moving out the end of the month....only to do this all over again....

I felt pretty good when I got to work today...and I checked my mail as I had forgotten to on Friday...and low and behold a little surprise...from MEME....Thank you for making me smile today!!!

So here's to a good week....TAC is finally filling orders from Feb 3rd...so there is hope my Feb 13th order will get here before my next hostess club on March 15th...fingers crossed!

To "Scrapling" or not...that is the question.....

What is a scrapling you ask....well it is a tiny card made of scraps. It is approximately 1 1/4" x 4 1/4". Way too cute to make.

My week last week ended well. We had a potluck on Friday at work, I passed out valentine goodie bags...MEME came and visited. I made my turkey chilli...which was the hit....I went to Diva's house for a movie and the remainder of the chilli...and then home.

Saturday was fun-filled. I worked out with RICO and then headed to Heather's were we made scraplings for a swap on a TAC forum paperwings. Here's mine. I then headed home, got ready for my "date" with my fellowship group...we headed to Gorditos...I was sooo early, and everyone was late...I totally thought for about 5 minutes that I had been stood up by 8 people and 4 kids...seriously....after dinner we headed to Michael and Lydias for a little chit chat and dessert...then it was home again.

Sunday I laid low...I woke up with a nasty cough - still have it....and man oh man does it sucx...

Monday....headed to work, and then afterwards, Heather and I met for dinner at Panera and had our favorite soup then we went to see Paul Blart - Mall Cop...so many kids where there....they had the holiday off...but it was a FUN=NEY movie....

Tuesday was crazy - our stamps are being held hostage in a overflow of orders...lol....I ponied up the $25 rush fee so Heather's order could get here before her workshop....yes I had some stampes in there as well...but she's been having a real hard time lately at work and such....so I decided to surprise her....with a tuesday pick me up....so they will be here on Monday....plenty of time before her open house on the 28th....I can't wait to get my first 3 sets...yeah!!! I have 4 more coming with my order....one which is a hostess set....whenever it ships...I might have to rush it if it won't ship a week before my hostess club in March...don't want them to have to wait any longer than that...anyways....

Still have this crude...it's Wednesday....my voice has been going in an out....and I'm planning on heading home tonight and going to bed....maybe doing a load of laundry....hoping I can kick this crude...ugh...

Just Rite Meets ATC

Again with the JustRite Stampers. I have been making mailboxes like crazy for the last month. First with my hostess club in January, then a couple for my two single friends...which they don't have yet...tee hee...and then for some people at work. I haven't taken any pictures...what?? But I will on the last two after they are given...as not to spoil the surprise.

So how does JustRite meet ATC??? Well, my boss asked me to make a mailbox for his wife, and then fill it with little cards so she could give to people who have been helping take care of her while she has been dealing with cancer. SO I was up to the challenge. I found some really nice pink, red, brown, beige patterend paper at paperzone, where I got the paper for the mailboxes...and then I paired it with some ivory cardstock. I used a small scallop punch and a small round one, and used the Curlz Alpha set from Just Rite to make the initital. I had to put some bling on it with a bit of ribbon. The card size is a finished ATC size at 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and I even found some envelopes for them. Off they went into the mailbox...and to the boss man....so hopefully they are a hit. I've attached a scan - sorry its a bit wonky...that bling made it shift.

An update on the Squirrels.....caught a possum in the trap this morning...yikes....but no movement in TAR's ceiling...yeah.....hopefully this will be finished sooner than later..ugh the drama....

Heading to see NEW IN TOWN tonight....hopefully that will be a good movie....and tomorrow...busy busy day....I've got to make my(actually Diva's recipe) Turkey Chili for Friday's potluck and dinner with DIVA...it's gonna be a busy next couple of days.....

WOW...the rest of last week just flew by. Many crazy stories....all I have to say is SQUIRREL...yikes...can't wait til that story is resolved.

On Saturday, I had an awesome workout with RICO...meet MEME for brunch...did a bit of shopping/errand running and ended up getting home around 4pm just in time to meet the squirrel guy. WOW...where did the day go.

I got all the cards prepared for my workshop on Sunday....Here is one of them. Sunday was alot of fun....good times....and then off to the rents for dinner.

When I got home I made another mailbox....now just two left. I finally found some envies to put inside of them, as one of the guys wants 30 envies and 30 inserts so he can write something for each day...awe cute....and then for my boss I need to make 6 cards with envies to put inside for his wife to use.

Here it is...the middle of the week. Where has it gone?? Monday was a normal typical sleepy but busy day at work. Lots happening...lots to do....Tuesday showed up, and Heather and I went to go see Inkheart - thank goodness for the free pass. It wasn't a horrible movie...it was nice to escape for a couple of hours with no interruptions.

Today...I will be heading out during lunch to go to craft shopping, I have a couple of coupons and a gift card wahoo....I am looking for a border punch for my valentine's day cards...I need to finish the mailboxes that have been ordered, and I need find some small envies that will fit inside them for my one custom order...but there is time.

I need to get my cards together for my workshop on Sunday. I got all the orders sorted with their new stamps....and I have a ton to cut out not only for me, but for Cindy. So that's what I will be doing the next week or so during lunch. I need to get some more empty cd cases to store them in....and Cyn wants some too....so hopefully I'll get enough interest to order a case of 200.

Just a Note....

So the weekend....

Friday was well Friday...the day couldn't have gone by any faster or slower...ugh...my last day on the phones for the week. Finally!

Saturday....was work out with RICO...we started earlier as the Cobras were training that day...had a great workout...then went to meet the DIVA for breakfast at Julia's. Was yummy! Had a great visit....headed home, Talked to MEME set a time for next Saturday to get together for bday/christmas/valentines etc, then did a few errands...then just chilled.

Sunday up with a migraine...didn't go to church...just laid low, took a couple of naps, did a few things, went grocery shopping...watched a bit of TAPS/GHI - all RICO's fault...and then went to bed.

On Sunday it was my nephew's 18th bday....wow...who knew...anyways...I made him a set of cards with a music theme...its pretty hard to tell in the scan, but the black paper is debossed with a music sheet (gotta luv the cuttlebug folders)...I used a just rite stamper individual that said Just a Note and had music notes on the other end to make the cards...so hopefully, he will like them, along with the cash money and movie ticket!

WOW...Wednesday was a blur. It was a very busy day...with lots of surprises and frustrations. My courtesy copy of the magalouge didn't show up...the ups man didn't show up...but I still had a great day.

BUT Today....the gods were smiling on me. The UPS man came and dropped off a box of magalouges for me and my courtesy copy was in there as well.

I am sooo excited about the Magalouge....so many cute stamp sets....some okay 3 sets are on the way to me....and I most likely will order another 3 or 4. I am soo impressed with this magalouge...i hope that the new catalog in late June is just as impressive....it was a good inpiration day.

I've got a busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday coming up. Friday...work as usual, then I've got a few errands to run. I want to decorate the sales office with hearts etc for Valentine's Day...and I need to stop by the floral supply to get some clear bags. I am going to be doing a stamping project for Sabrina for some of her clients. We are putting together Valentine bags for them, and I will be using my Just Rite Stampers to customize them....I'll take a picture for sure. I've got to go and look for some empty cd cases...to see if I can find a deal on them...new stamps coming need storage for them...lol...and what else....oh yeah....Saturday...workout with RICO, brunch with Diva...then home to do "stuff" around the apartment. Sunday, church and then I'm gonna stay at home...and just relax....

UGH....

So here is how it played out....My 4 bundles of magalouges just departed Salt Lake City with a delivery date of Wednesday.....yeah right....we'll see....my courtesy copy is still not here.

Did you hear me?? IT'S STILL NOT HERE.

What the French.......toast.....ugh so so very frustrated....Heather was wonderful and called me last night after she got home from the Movie...to do a play by play of the magalouge and even scanned a few pages that hadn't been posted yet....so nice....anyways......I can't wait to get it...

My two huge orders still haven't shipped yet...but there's hope...I called the home office and asked what day the were shipping from....and they said last tuesday...so i placed everything on Wednesday....as long as it ships by Friday I should be safe for my hostess club....ugh...the other gals are here at work so that's no biggie on the time frame.

Dinner was soooo yummy - panera bread has some awesome soups and now they list the calories....i know it's a good thing...but sometimes you just don't want to know, know what I mean??? Oh well....

Anyways...the movie Bride Wars was very funny....we had a blast...I did sneak two cans of dt dr pepper into the theatre...but really there was like 5 other people in there....so that was nice to have a free movie and a free soda....

It snowed this morning....what the??? LOL....ugh this winter weather....and the freaking contractor dude finally called me back....and he hopes to be done this next weekend, he said he'd call on Monday....ugh.....will it ever be finished????

What a FUN weekend....

WOW....did it ever go by sooo fast. I had a fun trip to Paperzone on Friday night and got all the stuff for the mailboxes I needed....hit the grocery store for a couple of things...and then homeward I was.

The night was pretty relaxing...and the it was Saturday....

Up and out to see RICO who killed me....seriously...who knew that tugboat ropes were that heavy...dude...seriously killed me....then I went and hit Walmart for a few things...including a cool veggie tray to go holder...for a freakin $5...such a dea....I know I have professed to hate Walmart - but every since I got hooked on their cranberry/apple sugar free crystal lite type of drink...I've been going...and I even found a package of chocolate covered pomagrants for pops.

I headed home, but stopped at the office to see if my TAC NEW Magalouge was there....bummer dude SO NOT THERE....ugh....then home to get ready for the potluck....got everything ready and then headed to the Ronda's. We had such a fun time....the kids were fun and crazy...just like I like it....then home again....

Sunday...the usual....headed to the 'rents' and indexed and cut all of pops stamps for him....and then a little dinner and homeward....and time to get ready for Monday Monday Monday.

Watched a little tv...and yes I did watch...the trainwreck of a show...Rock of Love Tour Bus...ugh...unbelieveable...lol...and then time for Monday...

Traffice sucked...but it was very cold and sunny....got to work....and NO Magalouge...so hopefully it would be here at lunchtime....ugh...NO SUCH LUCK...and then I checked ups to see where my big bundle of them were as they are supposed to be delivered on Wednesday...what the freak...they are "EXCEPTION ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS" in Salt Lake City of all places...ugh....oh well...

Getting ready to head out....heading to Issy to see Bride Wars with Heather....and gonna stop at Panera for some yummy soup before the movie....I'll report the location of the MIA Magalouge...the sad thing is Heather's arrived at her house today....SO MY SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW....Unless Murphy Stikes...

YEAH ME!!! I did it!!! Wahoo....so keeping up with my resolutions!!! I finished Ronda's bday card and set of cards....woot woot! I just have Alan's bday card to make, and the card sets for Brom and Danen as well as cards....and an Anniversary card for the 'rents'....for February...

Here they are....and I am loving how fun and easy these are...I'm gonna start making two of each kind I make for me and add my initial...then I'll always have a variety of cards!

I'm excited for the weekend.....I need to try and pick up a couple more mailboxes to decorate...if none are to be had that's okay...I have enough...but I'd like a few more. I need to get paper to decorate said mailboxes...paperzone here we come....everyone loves the brown and pink palette...me too!!!

AND....I've got a RICO workout...we are gonna start doing the circuit again...so need that....ugh...so tired of this blah blah blah I'm in...and then I have a bit of grocery shopping to do...veggie tray for Ronda's and my cottage cheese ranch dip....yipppeee I haven't made that in ages....and then a little clean up around the apt...to Ronda's and then....

Sunday...church and the 'rents' I have lots of stamps to index and cut and dad has some that need to be done as well...so hopefully, while I index, he'll start to cut his...and then I've got phones all next week so I will be able to cut out my stamps...yeah so many to do before my new batch shows up....and

When it needs to be easy and "Justrite"

So as part of my NEW YEARS resolutions in 2009...it is to be more prepared regarding the people I care about and their birthdays.

I so far have been 3 for 3 this month...with two left to go...I have had 3 people at work who have had birthdays so far this month....for two of the guys, I have made handmade birthday cards...for the girl..who's bday is today...I not only made her a card, but I made her a dozen personalized cards using my new favorite stamps made by Justrite Stampers.

It seems some time ago...perhaps October I got obsessed....along with my dear friend/partner in crime when it comes to all things crafty...and purchased some items from Justrite Stampers. The first thing I got was the 1 5/8 circle, a times new roman alpha set, some borders, a small alpha set. My purpose...to make all of my account executives holiday gifts...of personalized notecard set with the station info....and they went over like HUGE....seriously....which was soo cool...to make something, have it appreciated and actually stay in budget for the holidays!!! Since then, I have purchased a curlz alpha kit during the buy one get one and gave the other set to the craft friend..tee hee...and then I was given a gift of the large harmony II circle with borders and the baking set as well as a couple of other individual stamps...for the holidays from one of my wonderful account executives....so I am in love love love with this...they make easy gifts that are personalized so easily.

I used 5 12x12 sheets of paper (2 solid, 3 patterened all with a shimmer oh so pretty) and 8 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 white and made, 12 personalized cards, a birthday card and a belly band for the clear plastic box...I found some pretty gray satin ribbon...and off I went....making the cards....here is a scan of the birthday card and the plastic box which holds the 12 cards and the belly band..which was so easy to make...I used left overs and then the border/center from Justrite and the "S" is from the Curlz set....so easy so fun...I am hooked.

I will also be making a set of cards for my dear friend Ronda who's bday is this weekend, and we are having a potluck on Saturday night to celebrate, I'll take pictures of that one...it will be more of a "Playful" palette...with blues and greens...anyways...here are the ones I made for Sabrina...now just to make Alan his bday card...and then it's time to get ready to make stuff for my nephews...And poor MEME...I have not only her stuff from her bday, but her holiday stuff...ugh....I'm gonna wait and give it all to her when I see here at the end of the month....

WOW...what a week. It's been a rough one...but I have managed to make it through....barely.

I am still wearing my glasses...and hating life....I am sure I'll get over that....some day.

I did get my hair done...and it is fabulous...even Bruce loves it....those of you who know about Bruce know that is a BIG DEAL....

I finished my halloween cards and did get them mostly in the mail....I have a few left to hand deliver....but what the heck....they are done.... The Halloween cards use the set Spooktacular from The Angel Company - I also used cuttlebug pumpkin harvest folder and Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo border punch...couldn't resist....

I made a bunch of bags filled with candy....made a ton of them actually, and they were well recieved and it was fun - and yes last minute...I finished them just before handing them out today....seriously...lol....the treat bags use the set Sweet Goodies from the Angel Company and on the back I used a label to close them and it said...You've been BOO'd! Happy Halloween from Chan....too fun!!!

ANYWAY....drug boy and I have had our ups and downs this week....I am hoping for a nice peaceful regrouping weeekend.....I'm gonna do a bit of retail therapy tonight and pick up some yummy soup for dinner and watch a movie....

Then....Saturday....workout with RICO and Heather....and go from there....

Whirlwind of a weekend

WOW...I survived.

Friday was a normal busy day...Saturday started off - totally WEIRD...Lets just say RANDOM. Got a phone call from a tenant about a car that was blocking our driveway...What the French Toast! Seriously.

So after calling a tow company and then being told to call 911 non-emergency line then sifting through the phone tree I finally got a live person. Seriously....SO I reported the vehicle, gave the lic plate number and told them the address and that both airbags had been deployed...they said they would send someone out....wow....

I then finished doing what I needed to do and got ready to see RICO...Heather was gonna meet me there....made it down to the studio and got my butt handed to me...seriously....then I followed Heather to the Gluten Free Bakery in Maple Valley. Where everything was really really expensive....however, we did purchase a pumpkin bread mini loaf....okay....really?

We headed to Heather's where we proceeded to eat said Gluten Free Pumpkin Loaf....yeah...smelled really really good....taste...okay...texture....chalky....Robert laughed sooo hard at us....oh well...had to try it!

We then headed to Jessica's for a Pampered Chef cooking show. What a totally fun time. I am going to have a catalog party....so if you need any Pampered Chef just let me know...totally learned about my pizza stone since I bought it a year ago and have never taken it out of the box...seriously...ugh....so I'm all fired up to use it....then we headed back to Heathers for a bit...and then I was off to my next event....

After getting home, I got ready and make a salad for our fellowship potluck dinner and pumpkin carving extravaganza. I did not get a pumpkin. I am regretting it now...next time for sure. It was fun to watch the kids with the pumpkins. My camera is driving me crazy...my battery is not staying charged....so I've got another rechargeable battery pack coming....so no pictures to share...drat drat drat!

Anyways....we had yummy steak tacos and salad and such...then it was home for a nice rest of the evening....

Sunday was a full day.....I went to church and stayed after for a bit...trying to get sign ups for our scrappin event on the 22nd of November....Need to let MEME know about it....and then I headed to the office to do a bit of cleaning - we are getting new carpet and paint and I needed to do a bit of clean up...and it was easier to do it when know one was there...seriously!

Then off home I went. I showed the unfinished apartment to a gal....and then well that pretty much was Sunday....

Monday has been pretty good. I emptied a few drawers of my desk at work, and did a bit more of cleaning and organizing...its always good to just do it....and especially with the new paint and such it will look really nice.

Hello People!!

YEAH it's Thursday...and I carpooled today....yeah!!! Today has been much calmer, altho there have been meetings, and of course...Damon's show...but all in all it's been a great day!!

I decided to post the five remaining cards for you today....

This happy little daisy? is from the So Sweet set from The Angel Company...I used the flower bloom cuttlebug background and used the clear stardust which you can't see...happy card.

This next card I used the love peace hope cuttlebug background and the Trendy Holiday Tags from the Angel Company. When I got this cuttlebug background, I was afraid to use it, I didn't want to "cover up" the words...but I think this layout with the stamp works perfectly!

The next card uses the textile cuttlebug folder (awe cuttle love) and the Just Because set along with Treasure It both from the Angel Company - I have used this combo a couple of different times, but each time, I change it up a bit....love this card so much!!!

The next card is a card that dear Heather came up with for WAG...I had to just crack up....after she put it together she came over one day for lunch and was debating how to do the ornament...I love the final outcome!!! It uses the Joy of Christmas from the Angel Company and I lightly sprayed glacier glimmer mist on the dark green paper....love the effect!

And last but certainly not least....the Owl returns...from the Fall Fun set from The Angel Company minus the santa hat. I made this card first, but then added the hat to make the other card.

What the?? Wednesday

WOWZERS....another crazy day in radio land...but fun. The sales people had their one-day fire sale...and that ended up being a lot of fun and a lot of extra work for me. Lucy had me keep track of all the orders for all the stations.....mega work....but good.

There was pizza a plenty around during lunch time....and then more dialing for dollars. At 3pm I headed into the studio to screen calls for Damon's show....no calls...oh well, there's always tomorrow...please call people....

Anyways....here are 3 more cards from this weekend....

The first card Ornamental Joy from The Angel Company uses a technique from WAG...it's an embossed resist with Walnut Inks - Cornflower....I also lightly sprayed some Glacier Glimmer Mist on the dark navy cardstock....I am loving that stuff....I know I know....Heather...you were right!!! The card is actually all blue...but apparently the scanner thought it looked purply.

The next card is a card inspired from Heather Scott using Sweet Goodies from the Angel Company....I changed it up a bit...and used a punched flower instead of a felt flower....and I stamped the circles on the back as well...gives it a different kind of feel....it was a hit on Saturday for sure!

And last but not least, is the Train Collage by the Angel Company. I borrowed the layout from a dear friend Jessica...hi Jessica! BUT I changed the papers....she had done the card in a trade last year sometime....the technique is spotlight brayering....and I just love how it looks....

Crazy Days

Tuesday...what a day...and it's not even over yet....as promised I will show you 3 more cards from this weekend.

Here's an oldie but a goodie..."Let It Snow" by the Angel Company....I think I have made over 250 cards using this image. I used it last year for a couple of classes, some christmas cards, and this year for my hostess club as well as I made 100 cards for Cards for the troops....I just love how you can just stamp it, nothing else is really needed, a little snowflake cuttlebug background and a touch of ribbon. It is a favorite....

The next is the Gerber Daisy another by the Angel Company - I used it for my WAG trade and yet by changing a few things....it totally changes the look. I believe this is one of the first stamps I ever purchased from the Angel Company from my now upline Char. Hi Char!!

And finally, the caterpillar from SO Sweet by the Angel Company....it's funny, my dear buddie Heather hates this set, and I got it not really sure when or why...but I did....so I challenged myself to make a card using it for WAG for our ATC (Artist Trading Card) and it turned out pretty cute....for this version, I used the Leafy branch cuttlebug embossing folder....and you probably can't see it, but I used the gelly roll clear stardust on the antena and eyelashes...

Anyways, today was day two of answering the phones as a call screener for one of our live radio shows....it's pretty fun we'll see how that goes...and there was a trip to Bellevue Art and Frame to purchase the gelly roll clear stardust pens....I got all the gals from worked hooked on them on Saturday so off I went to purchase 6 - 2packs....lol...it was crazy the guy thought I was cra-zy..lol...anyways....

Let the craftiness begin

WOW...what a weekend!! I had 2 seperate outings if you will....card making wise. On Saturday the gals from work all got together at Miss G's condo in the clubhouse. I prepared 7 different cards and they did a stamp a stack...4 cards for $5.oo. What a fun day that was. While Laura, Miss G and Chris made cards, I helped Cindy make 32 of a holiday card and 8 sets of 8 notecards, in addition, she also put together an additional 8 cards from the stack....Wowzers....it was lots of fun.....

here is one of the cards from Saturday - right now it is my "new" favorite...I am sure it will be back again in some other project!!

Then on Sunday - my Everett Hostess Club got together....and we did 7 holiday cards. I showed them a couple of new techniques that were used on 3 of the cards....so after the techniques were done....they started making cards....I actually put together a set as well....as my dad didn't stay to stamp...he washed my car and changed the oil instead...so I gave him the set...fair trade right???? LOL...anyways....one of my new obsessions...is the marvy snowflake punches...I got the yellow and blue one.....In the card below, I punched the snowflake out of Kraft paper and then using the essential glue pad, attached glitter to it. All stamps, papers and inks are from the Angel Company. Contact me if you see something you like.

Library Pocket Obsession

About a month ago, Heather and I saw a really cut "dates to remember" book made out of library pockets. We really thought it was cute and wanted to make one. SO we emailed the gal and got really no help...so we hit up the good ole google and found library pockets in a package of 12 for like $4 each...then we found a quickutz revolution die on ebay and then a coluzzle template.

I ended up getting the ebay die (which I need to re-list) which when it arrived was way way too small....and then the coluzzle. I decided to make it and teach it to the gals from work at our September gathering....I did all the prep work and only charged $10 each. Really I should have charged $15 for all the prep I did....but none the less - it was fun....The sample I did, I used several different shades of paper....so I had planned on making myself a new one. Well....I didn't start it til the other day....to which a co-worker (What up "L"man) asked if he could purchase it to give to his boss for boss' day....yeah Lucy!! Anyways.....so here is the finished product. I still have to assemble mine....

All paper and stamps are from The Angel Company. The final picture is a snap shot of the acrylic box that I dressed up with a paper band, ribbon and buttons....I can't wait to make more of these bands.....Heather...we might have to order more boxes!!!

As you all are aware, it's October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month....

This card I am posting today, I made a month ago, for my trade card at WAG (Western Angel Gathering) it was inspired by a wonderful lady who found out that she has breast cancer. My father asked me to make her a card, and so I came up with this a take on a card by Heather Scott....and made not only her card, but a card for each of the attendees of WAG.

A FUN-TASTIC Weekend

WAHOO!!!

What a great weekend! I had a very crazy week dealing with some stuff at the apartment building and work...but heck what's new...lol....and I got ready for a fabulous day of crafting on Saturday.

I got up - and ready and left the apt by 7:10 - headed to Rico's got there about 8 - worked out...got my butt handed to me on a platter....and then some....had a fun time tho as always...lol...I think I told him I hated him and that he sucked to which he just laughed at me...go figure...lol...then I was off....

I headed to the office where I went to the building next door and took a shower and got ready...then off in the car again up to Mill Creek to meet my gals from my Everett Hostess Club. I got there by 11 and set up by 11:30...we had such a blast. MEME came to join the fun...yeah MEME!!!

We made two projects (a) a Holiday Planner and (b) a stationary set... and then just crafted..and laughed and had a great time.

I then headed up to the "rents" and showed Mom how to use her George Foreman grill...we had a great dinner....and then it was time to head home...

On Sunday off I was to church, then I did a bit of grocery shopping - then home...a little craft organizing and a little tv watching and just relaxing....

I've got lots of stuff - craft wise to work on this week...to get ready for this weekend...it will be fun for sure....

So today has been a typical day....reports, phones, invoices, recaps, counter displays etc...

I have been craving gluten tho...I want real fluffy bread....in th worst way....but let's carry on.

SO I called DIVA...and in the midst of our conversation....I say to her:

ME - Why won't TAR (The Annoying Renter) either die or move out.

DIVA - You must have been very bad...with don to deserve it

ME - Why yes I was very very very bad....and hummm I really don't regret it...

WOW...where did the summer go? It was fast, furious, frustrating but definately FUN!

Major events that happened in no particular order....

survived RICO moving and only working out 1 time per week

my brother and his family visited from Miami
my uncle from Australia also stopped by
my stamping business has taken off and now I have monthly stamp club meetings yeah!
I cut my hair short
I've hung out with all my best buds, DIVA, MEME, Heather, Cynthia & Em and the DIVA Kitty!
Got a new property manager
the Canadian moved oh Canada....lol
I made a really cool Elvis wedding card....
got commissioned to make some cool 70th bday cards
got a new cool phone Instinct
and I'm going to Phantom tonight!!! Which is a long long story...ugh cliff notes...I was supposed to go opening night (I had free media tickets) BUT it was on Sept 11 - and I was to be in Salem...go figure...but by a wing and a prayer and lots of cash money...I'm going tonight!

AND for the record...I think I've only broke down into tears less than 6 times! Yeah me!!!

Life after overtime

I ended up putting in 31 hours of overtime in the last two weeks...25 of it was from two weeks alone...but last Sunday...I was able to relax and get back into the swing of things.

This last week it was a breeze at work, I was covering the phones, had a bit of overtime, I did even manage to make a few cards...

This week was nice, relaxing, got a lot done, did a bit of shopping, bought a few items (craft of course) and well Friday I met up with MeMe for dinner at Applebee's...we had a fabulous chat and enjoyed dinner....

Saturday, I did a few errands and headed down to MV to see Heather and Chloe...we went and saw Kung Fu Panda, had a bit of dinner, crafted a bit and had a fabulous day...then it was Sunday, Father's Day...

I headed up to Alderwood, met the "rents" and we went to see Indy, went to Azteca for lunch, did a bit of shopping and had a nice relaxing day.

So here we are - it's Monday, and I'm all caught up on the bloggage... now that things seems to be slowing down a bit, hopefully, I'll update a little more often.

Music Fest Part II

WOW...now here's the biggie...the Festival Feast Contest. TONS of prep for this one. It was a huge undertaking, but it is finally done, and delivered...it will be displayed in 75 QFC (Quality Food Center) stores in July.

I will take pictures of the displays and post at that time...however, here's just a small glimpse of what the project looked like once it was completed and in the delivery envelopes....This picture shows 3 bins...when all was said and done 9 bins were the end results...Oy vieh! NOW that's a lotta contesting materials!

When all was said and done, I used 17 1/2 rolls of double-sided paperbacked tape...36yrds per roll...tons of tape....I got me some tape!!

Music Festival

WOW...it's already June 16th...wowza...so much to say so much to do and so much that has to be done.

The last weekend of May, my dad and I went to the opening of the Everett Farmer's Market. What a fun time we had....I have included some pictures of what we saw...

WOW...it's hard to believe that May has just flown right on by...so much has happened...I'll try and catch you all up - if that is possible....lol...I never know where to start at the beginning or the end...so I'll just go with what I remember...

Let's see since I last checked in...I took my blood test/kidney test and I just had a week to wait for the results....I met up with RICO for a bit of clam chowder and a little live jazz music...okay it was pouring...but it was fun AND HE LOST A BET...he hasn't paid up yet, but there will be pictures for sure!

Prior to seeing RICO I headed to Heather's house and had a fun time with her and Chloe...yeah!!!

I got my test results....and they stayed the same...yeah!!! Moving in the right track...now just to start going lower.

After my dr's apt, I went to my fav art supply store and found this...now mind you - I love paper...so I had to buy this...

I then headed to T-town where I took a jewelry class...we made soldered pendants. I have wanted to do this for such a long time....so glad I was able to take the class...and it was such a relief to finally do it...I've had the kit for a couple of years....flash back...mad scientist was supposed to show me...go figure...lol...anyways it was a lot of fun!!

Although one of the glass sides cracked...it was a success. I can't wait to make more of these.

Later that week - I took a couple of more classes...this time coloring with prismacolor pencils. Heather and I took these two classes by Terry Medaris...amazing...he's got some mad skillz. We had a lot of fun...here's what we did....the first one...blending, the second blending and shading...I want to take more classes...

Since I last checked in I have seen a couple of movies....Made of Honor...Iron Man...and What Happens In Vegas.

I've had a bunch of drama at the apartment building...but all is settled down now...and I had a relaxing long weekend with drugboy...we had fun on Friday and Monday...I hung out with Heather and the gals and did a bit of stamping on Saturday and well...the normal on Sunday...

Wednesday - I'll be getting my butt kicked by RICO finally...the nonsense of Mono and my sinus cold are gone....and it's gonna be extra early at 5 freakin AM...what the???

So RICO has Mono...and because of my weakened immune system and diabetic state, I can't workout with him until May 19th. WHAT THE?

UGH....so no sweating, kissing, sharing of water....ugh...with RICO...drat, I hate when that happens!!!

It is sooo strange to be without him. I have however, been doing my thing at home...but it's been a slow haul with my blood test approaching....as soon as that is done, then I'm hitting it Hardkore...Imperial Pride!!!

Forgotten Secretaries Day

SO....usually my co-workers totally spoil me for Secretaries week...flowers, gifts, lunch - etc.

Anyways...they totally forgot until the Monday after. What?

Yes, I did however, find this most humorous - why you ask? Well we had a banner ad on our company website advertising for secretaries day/week for 3 weeks prior...and one of my sales guys SOLD the banner to his client....a florist....

Anyways.....the following Monday, they realized they forgot - so we all went out for Sushi lunch...

Live Jazz and Golfing...

Druids Glen, Saturday, the day after my bday we (radio station) were kicking off a live music series...Jazz on the Green...so I rounded up the peeps and headed out there with Taylor.

It was such an amazing day....so pretty....

RICO and Mai, Heather and Robert showed up around 7ish and hung out while the music was playing (Michael Powers was performing) and it was such a nice relaxing time....hanging out with my peeps...listening to music and looking out at Mt. Rainier...It will definately be something that we do again...

Brunch with Diva and a massage

On Saturday, I met up with DIVA in Issy and we went to Fin's Cafe (I think) it was amazing...brunch was sooo yummy....we then went to go do a little shopping at Linens and Things - DIVA needed a new comforter cover...as the purple one shows DIVA KITTY white hairs...bad kitty! LOL....

Anyways....while we were there, we happened upon the massager attachment that you place onto your chair.....life will never be the same....lol

My official bday

I ended up taking the day off and just celebrating my birthday....I did however, get up and work out with RICO at what 5:30...no rest for me...lol....however, I did come home and take a nap. Drugboy was gonna take me to lunch...so I slept for a while and then got all ready. We went to the Library Cafe for a late breakfast....it was soooo yummy....then he told me he had the rest of the day off....so we just drove around...and hung out....no worries of work...it was really really nice.

Babies - Baptism - Babies

April saw the baptism of two very near and dear to me baby boys...Asher and Willem. I was given the task of sitting up front and taking pictures at both events.

After each baptism...we headed to their respective homes for a nice family/friend get together luncheon.

MEME attended the baptism and luncheon for young Asher.

As time goes by, it is so refreshing to realize what amazing friends and people I have in my life...and how precious life is. I can't wait to see how these two turn out....fabulous of course!

Dinner and a Movie Bday Style

I met up with Heather to go out for my bday a few days early. BOY was a movie and dinner needed. We went and say Nimi's Island...very cute and lighthearted - definiately needed that. We split a small popcorn and just relaxed....afterwards, we headed to Applebee's for a little dinner off the weight watchers menu...YUMM-O!

Heather totally spoiled me with crafting supplies - a GIGA Oval Scalloped Punch and a script cuttlebug folder....YEAH!!!

I attended my first Norwegian Heritage Day Festival at the Leif Erickson Hall. It was totally not what I expected, but I was definitely glad I went. The Hall is just across the street, about a block away. I took a picture of the Men's Norwegian Choir and of course the namesake of the hall, Leif Erickson. While I was there, I ran into a former co-worker - Tim Hunter...who knew he would be there mc'ing the event. Lots of fun in the neighborhood.

WOW....what a morning it has been. I received a call at oh dark thirty this morning from the Ultimate Trainer. He wants me back, and he made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. 5 days a week for FREE - he needs a spokes person...and apparently I am just the gal for that.

I did think about it long and hard. Rico is soooo amazing. RICO is just RICO...RICO kicks my butt and I thank him for it and ask for more. He's been there through all the freakiness with my knees, blood sugar, kidneys I feel horrible about my decision....but really it comes down to cash money. Right now life is tight. And freeing up the money would be a huge relief in so many ways. I could actually think about moving and not having to be the apartment manager anymore...I could potentially get a kitty kat or a crinkle doggie...two things that I really really want. I wouldn't have to skimp on my trip to Hawaii...crafting, classes...so many many things could open back up to me. I am sooo torn. But I have to think about the future.

Aloha Friday - Hawaiian Shirt Edition

In preparation for my trip to Oahu and Maui, I thought it might be fun to get a couple of Hawaiian shirts to have to wear before going - on Fridays...to celebrate Aloha Fridays and get in the spirit of the trip and also take on my trip. I came across this website that not only sells fabulous Hawaiian shirts, but they also have a line of "plus sizes" And if you know me....I did a beeline right to the purple one.

The company that I found is called Wave Shoppe, check out their website. One thing that really made me like this company right away was how they designed their plus size women's shirts. You can read the story here.

SO happy Aloha Friday. It is snowing here...I can't wait to feel the warm sun on my face...December can't get here fast enough!

Movie Review

I did attempt to watch a movie this week, however I ended up turning the movie off? What? Are you kidding me? I actually turned a movie off. THAT NEVER HAPPENS.

I tried to watch Shrek the Third...and made it about a half hour into it. It was not even really funny to me...now don't get me wrong, I loved Shrek and Shrek Two...so not too sure why - I will give it another try and I do have some movies waiting for me to watch when I get home.

Officially I’m a sleeper-iner

What a week it has been…with the tragedy of the Alaska Ranger…all the memories, being UBER busy at work and seminars…I slept in. Waking only upon RICO’s ring tone…Hey Now You’re An All-Star by Smashmouth. WOW…a first for everything, I ended up being about 10 minutes late, and we work a bit longer to make up for it. HE had me hit the NEW old treadmill that he just got...lol....showed him I've been hitting my own treadmill..lol..we had a great workout as usual...however he kept teasing me that I was a sleeper-iner.

Overall the week has been great – a lot has been accomplished. Life is good. It’s good to be alive. The weather has been very wintry.
I’ve rocked it at work…I just love when that happens. Not too many exciting things otherwise have been happening…which is good. Things will be starting to HEAT up soon. With the upcoming scrapbooking events, Jazz on the Green evenings, the Golf Tourney, Jazz Fest, WAG and my birthday….looks like April – September will be buzy. BUT that’s the way I like it. And before I know it, I’ll be heading to HAWAII!

Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a joyous Easter holiday, I certainly did. This is the criss cross card that I made and sent out.

My weekend started with Friday...met MeMe for lunch at Applebee's - yeah trade! We had a good lunch and chat...then back to work, we got out of work a bit early...okay 30 minutes early...which was nice. The traffic was light...crazy eh? I got home and then left to go to Good Friday service, it was really nice. I met the boy for dinner afterwards...it was funny we went to Shari's...we had fun, and a bunch of laughs. Saturday - time for a little road trip. Joe thought it would be nice if we went for a drive. Hummmm.....so he picked me up around 9 and we hit the road. He was pretty prepared - he had lots of goodies - healthy goodies. Bottled waters, fresh fruit, carrots, peanuts and a few luna bars for me. I was really touched that he took the time to think of all that. So off we went.

We ended up not too far from home. He took me to Golden Gardens. I started to laugh when we got there - I mean really - a 10 minute road trip? He said he had picked that as our destination because I had told him, that I loved going there, and whenever I have something that I need to think about, I go down there, walk on the beach and just think. And he wanted to share that with me. He's never been to Golden Gardens, so it was new to him, and it was nice to share it with him. He even brought a picnic lunch for us to enjoy.

We walked out and around to the point and sat and just talked. He even brought blankets as it was a bit cool and even a thermos of caffine free hot tea. *swoon* He told me he hoped I liked his surprise...he also said that no matter what we do - big or small - it will always be new and special and ours.

When we got back to my place, he said let's go check out the new coffee place. So we walked down there and enjoyed a little treat and just sat, listened to music and just enjoyed the relaxing day.

Sunday....wow...came way too quickly. I headed to church and then up to the "Rents" - we had turkey dinner....yeah stuffing! We had a nice day...just catching up....the food was good, conversation fantastic....mom is doing sooo much better...it's hard to believe it's almost been a year since her accident...she's come so far...I'm soo proud of her...and Dad's just been a hero...totally stepping up and then some. I headed to church again after dinner...it was different, smaller crowd, different approach - challengeing...and inspiring. I got home and got ready for work...and then the news came on....The F/T Alaska Ranger sank, 4 crew were dead. Capt. Pete...dead...omg....I just started to cry...so many emotions came rushing in....

WOW…since it’s late I'll keep it short....

It seems I’m stuck on Nick Cage….oh gee darn - I hate when that happens!!!

Face Off - Starring Nicholas Cage and John Travolta and a few other good actors/actresses.

Movie is based on good and evil. Nicholas Cage is the evil Castor Troy and John Travolta is the good Sean Archer. This movie is the typical good cop after the evil criminal. I have seen this movie several times…and often quote a lot of lines from it. I love how wickedly evil Nicholas Cage is and how when Castor and Sean trade lives, how each actor pulls it off. There is lots of action and shoot em up scenes.

Nicholas Cage Hotness = 10+
Rental? ABSOLUTELY – if it’s on sale BUY IT!

I had a great workout with Rico. I gave him his bday present…and he liked it (I hope) and he told me all about his birthday. I told him about the weekend…a little chit chat before sweating…ugh. I did carpool with B – he forgot me….and I had to call and remind him. We did get to work, it was fun pooling….it had been way too long since the last time!
I am glad we pooled, when I got home and upstairs after work, I turned off everything, and sat in the dark for 20 minutes…and then proceeded with the evening.

Weekend Wrap Up

WOW….things have been BUS-ZY…eeeks! Okay so it’s Wednesday, but here’s the weekend wrap up!

Friday…a trip to good ole Sam’s club. Yummy Strawberries and Pineapple were purchased…got home, lugged everything upstairs…and got ready for Heather’s the next morning. Got up and made the infamous fruit salad. Yeah me, got to Heather’s in the nick of time…and then we headed off to Becca’s! Annissa was with us…so to say the least the short roadtrip to Becca’s was full of laughs!

We had a great, fun and productive day working on our Brayer Technique Books, I think everyone finished. Yeah us!

I headed home, and stopped to pick up some ground turkey for Sunday’s Taco Bar potluck. I stopped at Ballard Camera to meet with the gals about teaching classes. I got a bunch of cool products to work with. SO the plan is to figure out what to make with it, come in this Saturday to shop for papers etc, and then start making…and turn in stuff so they can announce at Scrappin’ Friendzy….wowza…it’s gonna get sketchy…lol.

I finally got home and got ready for my date with Joe…aka the drug boy. Yeah drug boy…lol…we went to a nice little new haunt in Ballard. Lots of fun, good food, and not too crowded. After dinner, he came over and helped me okay more like watched and razzed me while I was making the turkey taco meat for Sunday.

Sunday came way too fast. Yikes, I was no sooner up, and out the door to make it to church on time. Got there, and saw everyone…the service was nice and then we waited afterwards til it was time to head to Ken and Carla’s. I had a blast chatting with my buddy Aaron. He would jump up onto my lap, kneel, wrap his arms around my neck and tell me “I’ve got a new bed” “It’s blue” lol. We had a fabulous time enjoying tacos and catching up…I hated to leave and go home.

But home, I had to go. I got home and pretty much relaxed, chatted with Joe and then got ready for Monday. And Phone Duty….what a week it has been.

When I think about Hawaii, the first thing that pops into my mind is the Hawaiian lei. I did a search and found this website http://www.hawaiianleicompany.com/default.aspx. I of course had to check it out and found the following information about the tradition. I hope you enjoy it!

This is a lei that I am considering purchasing and sending as a Christmas Gift to share the islands while I am there in December.

The Aloha Tradition

While a few ancient Hawaiian customs have faded from memory, the tradition of lei-giving has managed to subsist and flourish. In the beautiful islands of Hawaii, everyone wears leis. A lei is a common symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honor, or greeting. In other words, it is a symbol of Aloha. Take a walk around Hawaii; you’ll find leis everywhere—graduations, parties, dances, weddings, and yes, even at the office. In Hawaii, any occasion can be considered special and “lei-worthy.” No one can resist the vibrant colors, the intoxicating fragrances, or the beautiful tradition of Hawaii’s most recognized icon…the flower lei.

The History of the Lei - The custom of the flower lei was introduced to Hawaii from the various surrounding Polynesian islands and even Asia. In ancient Hawaii, wearing a lei represented wealth, royalty, and rank. Leis were also heavily associated with hula, religion and geography.
Most Hawaiians preferred the Maile lei--a leafy vine that has fragrant spicy-sweet leaves that is draped and worn open-ended to the waist. However, royalty and Hawaiian chieftains favored the fiery, vibrant Ilima—a thin orange blossom that requires hundreds of flowers to make a single lei strand. Hawaiian Princess Kaiulani’s favorite lei was the Pikake—named after the peacocks in her garden—for the heavenly white blossoms and sweet jasmine fragrance.

The state of Hawaii is consists of eight major islands. Each island has its own designated lei which represents a harmonious marriage of texture and color. Most of these leis are unavailable for shipping to the mainland due to strict agricultural laws.

Maui – Lokelani
Kauai – Mokihana
Molokai – Kukui
Lanai – Kaunaoa
Niihau – Pupu
Kaho’olawe – Hinahina

Before the familiar hum of airline jets were heard in the sky, tourist and travelers arrived in Hawaii by boat. Many old Hawaiians retell their stories of “boat days” with fond memories. When the boat would arrive at the dock, it was a social celebration with lei greeters, hula dancers, music, and photographers. A common custom for departing travelers was to toss their leis into the ocean by Diamond Head Crater. A safe return to Hawaii was ensured if their lei drifted to shore.

Since May 1, 1928, Hawaii has celebrated every May first as it’s official “Lei Day.” Hawaiians call it “May Day.” The flower lei is celebrated passionately on May Day with Hula, parades, and music. On May Day, most parents request to take a day off of work so they can watch their children participate in May Day festivities and programs at school. Everyone in Hawaii is encouraged to wear a lei on May Day.

Lei Etiquette - Leis can be worn, received, or given for almost any occasion. In Hawaii, a lei is given for an office promotion, a birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, or any special event. Yet more notably, a lei can be worn for no other reason than to enjoy the fragrance, take pleasure in the beautiful flowers, or simply, to celebrate the “Aloha Spirit.”

There is one big faux pas that should never be made. Never refuse a lei! Always graciously accept the lei with a toothy smile and a kiss on the cheek. (If you don’t feel comfortable with giving or receiving a kiss on the cheek, a warm hug is acceptable!) If you are allergic or sensitive to flowers, then discreetly and apologetically slip-off the lei. It is acceptable and considered a kind gesture to offer the lei to your spouse if you are unable to wear it.

Last, but not least, there is one more taboo…it is considered (in Hawaii) impolite to give a closed (tied) lei to a pregnant woman. Many Hawaiians feel that a closed lei around the neck is bad luck for the unborn child. (Head Hakus and open-ended leis are acceptable to give to pregnant woman.)

A revisit of sorts...

Here's a card I have made several different times for a few different events. It all started last August in getting ready for an swap at an Angel Gathering (WAG). I also made several of these for a new catalog swap with a group of Angel Stampers (Paperwings) and then I used the card for a make-n-take for my big Scrapbooking event in October - and still having some left over used them again for a make-n-take at another scrapbooking event in November...well, I am using them again for this swap...wow...that's a lot of info. This time the swap was for a spring themed card using bitty blossoms (white flower) so there it is...lol...

WOW...what a freakin' fantastic day.

Today is a day to be noted. I moved my car seat up one notch. YEAH ME! I, of course, had to call Becks, my first trainer and tell her (yes after I sent RICO a text message)...and the best...was when I got to work, there was an email from Becks....and it said

"Congrats on the results. I am SO, SO, SO proud of you. You have no idea. You always amaze me. You have one of the best attitudes of anyone I have ever met. Keep up the hard work. I know at times it gets difficult but its days like these that make it all worth it. Have a fantastic day and be proud of yourself. I sure am."

What a way to continue the day. So far, I have moved my seat up 3 notches since I started this journey 1 1/2 years ago!

Movie Review Tuesday

Kicking off the first Movie Review of the blog – is the movie VANTAGE POINT Starring Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox.

Pay Full Price? Matinee or Rental

The movie is based on a terrorist event that takes place in Spain where 8 complete strangers see 8 different vantage points of the assassination of the President.

There were lots of plot twists, car chases, and explosions. Overall, the movie provided an entertaining evening, however, the rewinding of the scene to move to the next vantage point was somewhat frustrating, I just wanted to see what happened next.

The entertainment prior to the movie was priceless. MeMe and I met up to see the movie, and as we were sitting in the empty theatre, two men approached us and struck up a conversation. Both were very humorous…did you know you could use a sharpie to make grill marks on any item of food? The movie started late, so we were given a free small popcorn coupon on the way out. Yeah us!

No movie night is complete without going out to dinner. Dinner was had at Applebee’s on trade – gotta love that!

MeMe’s take on the movie? "The pre-movie entertainment was funny! Overall the movie was fine, nothing too much to say. Though it was nice to see Matthew Fox in a ‘bad guy’ role."

So there you have it folks……

New Weekly Features

Well, as most of you know I love movies....so each Tuesday, I will review a movie I have seen in the theatre or on DVD. And who knows....maybe even some movie trivia.

AND EACH FRIDAY WILL NOW BE KNOWN AS ALOHA FRIDAYS...in honor of my upcoming trip to HAWAII! The Friday feature will include things to do in Hawaii, things I might want to do, a hawaiian dish, an interesting fact...but it most certainly will be AHOLA!

Portland Creative Weekend

Well, I'm back and well rested from my wonderful weekend in Portland attending the Creating Keepsakes Convention. It was good to get out of town, fantastic to take classes, and just be. I did a lot of thinking about things, some good, some bad and well just some. LOL. I had a couple of amazing conversations with Joe and all is good. I did something that I have NEVER done for myself on a trip....I completed a scrapbook. Of my weekend. YEAH me!!! WAHOO!!

So I'll try and recap the weekend with pictures for you all....I had a very nice drive down to Portland...it only took about 2 1/2 hours....and I arrived safely at my favorite budget motel...motel 6 - when I'm done with Rico, I'll totally upgrade...but for now...this is in my budget.

I checked in and went up to unwind and just veg before heading to check in and attend my first class. I could wait. It was the marble tile class - using Photo transferring....and here's the finished project. This was a fun class and I can't wait to make more and teach this class...

After my class, I headed out for a bite to eat...go subway....lol...a good ole friend...gotta love the daily special in a wrap. I got back to the motel, and just relaxed headed off to bed.

I of course got up super early, and went and hit the wannabe fitness center...okay it's a treadmill..and I did a bit - I also had brought my resistance tubing, so I did some presses and rows...and then it was time to hit the shower and get ready for the day.

And no "School Day" would be complete without breakfast from my favorite place...Elmer's...lol...SO I headed over and order BACON....they must of thought I was a total freak, as I didn't want the pancakes or hashbrowns and just wanted the bisquit and fruit..and of course, I had to ask how many pcs of bacon was involved, then I asked to have the cook put pepper on it....I know I know...high maintainence...lol...oh well...it was my treat bacon!!!

I then headed to the convention center...I love seeing the towers...I always know I'm close. Inside I always crack up at their GIANT ART...the Poppies, the pear...and of course Starbucks, I knew it was gonna be awesome....

My first class was taught by Ali Edwards...it was her Top 10 favorite things...it was really good...lots of good information and great goodie bag filled with all of her 10 favorite things.

My next class was Not your everyday clipboard...now I've seen clipboards made, but haven't ever done one, so I thought I would take the class for fun...cuz this weekend was all about learning and FUN...I really liked the class...and it was fun, I'll have to make more!!

I had a break inbetween classes and did a little shopping, and walking around...and then my last class...Clearly Visible Album...it was an acrylic scrapbook. Now normally when I take a class like this, I just do the project and leave it empty always saying I'll finish it....well not this time...My Acrylic Scrapbook is completed with pictures from this trip and a little journaling...YEAH ME!!!

One of the highlights of my weekend, was running into a few friends...I got to see DL a couple times..yeah and a few others....which made it a fantastic trip...I did meet some new friends, which is always the reason I love what I do.

Oh what a week....

So the week was good. My boss was out of town. Sweet. Got lots done at the office, not as much as I wanted to...but still...a good amount. Had some awesome workouts...thank you Rico...even tho you killed me a few times....Brad and I carpooled a couple of times...sweet...and it was just an overall great week. Not too many crazy things happened. Just nice. The way it should be. The card I am showing you here is one I made for a swap with other angels. I can't wait to get the swap back....more samples for Scrappin Friendzy!

I do have a bit of interesting news....I went on a date. It was a very casual date...but a date nonetheless. It was fabu! I will say that there will be another date soon...when I get back from Portland. Oh yes, I am going to Portland. Love how I'm trying to avoid telling all the 411 on the date? tee hee....Well, let's just say this Billy Joe Bob Fred (those of you who know me really well know that name) tee hee (if you don't - just ask!) is a wonderful, interesting person with lots of potential. And a smile that fills the room...and for DIVA...nope...no earring...no diamond don's here!!! LOL!!! And I realized I didn't tell RICO...what? I know...I need to ...that will give me something to tell him on Wednesday and to see if he is actually reading this....snort! Well I odda....lol....anyways....

Back to Portland...I'm heading on my annual trip down to the scrapbook convention and taking a couple of classes. I'm very excited about them and can't wait....and I also got some good news, it looks like I will be teaching for the local scrapbook store...I"m going to be talking with them after I get back as well...so that should be lots of fun!!!

Awe, so the week continued...Wednesday was a get kicked in the butt session with Rico...like hello...when aren't they? The sad thing is, I always thank him afterwards and sometimes ask for more? What is with that? LOL.

And YES I SURVIVED THE DREADED DAY unharmed of course...lol...I made myself a killer dinner and just relaxed...took a bubble bath listened to some music and lit a few candles...very peaceful.

Friday...back at it again...I made Rico's girlfriend a bracelet for him to give her for Valentine's Day...and well she loved it...sweet! And Friday was a freakin fantastic day....No boss, Cindy, Taylor and I were going to lunch and then an appointment with Sally! YEAH! Tons of fun was had and then the weekend....

I was on a mission to go to Pike's Place Market...but for whatever reason...that didn't happen, well it sorta did...Okay so here's the story....I got up and was busy doing stuff around the apartment building...you all know that pesky managers stuff and before I knew it was like 11ish...by the time I got cleaned up, and ready to head downtown and then I approached the market - tons of people....and I totally couldn't find a parking place and there was a ton of people, okay I know I already said that...lol...SO then I decided to head home and try again another weekend...

I stopped at the Central Market and purchased some stuff...to make a new chicken noodle soup...with ground chicken meatballs and cheese filled tortellinis - the soup turned out fabulous!!! So the weekend turned out pretty good.

To Teff or Not?

Where did the time go? I know…I totally got my butt kicked by RICO…lol….My trifecta workout (wed, thurs, fri) totally killed me. I got to the Villa on Friday, made dinner and totally crashed!!! Slept sooo good….must be that Mercedes of a bed….had a pretty busy Saturday, did a few things at the villa, then headed out for some errands for the apt building, and then home. Got a ton of stuff done…who knew? But the unfortunate thing was the weekend just flew by. What? Where did it go?

The week at work started out well, you know – normal…I was traveling back and forth between work, the villa and home. But it was good, made the time go by fast. I had a cooking class on Monday night. It was a total blast. It was sponsored by Swedish Hospital and the Joslin Diabetes Center. It was really interesting. It focused on refreshing your knowledge of portion size, carbs, healthy sugars and using different things to get more flavor our of your food. I really like how they incorporated simple things into your meals like zest for instance and different spices. They made some interesting things…Chicken with a yogurt sauce which was really good, they made crispy sweet potato and beet chips (yummy) chai tea, and then some chocolate pudding with raspberry made from Teff….It was like eating chocolate grits....yeah not for me…but the hit was the date bon bons…I’ll have to make those one time…very good…and not to horrible calorie/carb wise.

Tuesday finally arrived, I made it through the day and then it was time to see Dr W. Boy was I nervous. I knew my blood sugar was about the same, but I didn’t know what the proteins would be. WOWZA…amazing…great appointment and the proteins dropped HUGE…now I’m only 13 points above normal….WAHOO…now just to keep it there. A huge relief – now I can just Keep Calm and Carry On….lol…

Murphy HATES Me...

Tuesday, the morning of fasting, holding it and testing….I felt really good when I woke up, I got ready and headed out the door to head to the lab. Of course, Murphy was not too far behind me today…lol….as I got onto the road…it was raining, windy and traffic at a snails pace. Great. I had my trusty liter of cold water to drink on the way. For whatever reason, I have an issue when it’s time to do the deed…you know…pee into the cup. Apparently, I can’t pee under pressure, so I always drink lots of water on the way to the lab, and of course, when I get there…I am so ready, okay beyond ready to burst. So picture this…Me, being diabetic and fasting, having to hold it, drinking lots of water, getting stuck in 1-90 traffic and being anemic. Fun times….lol.

I finally make it to the lab. And I walk in and check in. They come and get me and ask for my insurance card. I pull it out and hand it to the gal…she scans it and then proceeds to say…”You owe $4.50…I can’t test you til you’ve paid this.” Now mind you, I just got the bill in the mail the night before…ugh…I said sure, here’s five bucks…”oh I can’t take cash”, I reply check? She says ”no, sorry”…I replied…Visa Debit card??? She says “Yes”. Whew…so I give her my card and she scans it in and I have to sign like 29 pieces of paper…snort…

She then says…”Okay take a seat”, I sit down, ready to really burst at this point…the vampire draws 3 viles of blood and then says “Okay you’re done.” I’m like, What? What about the micro albumin test? She replies “It’s not marked on your chart, are you sure you are supposed to do that?” I’m like, yeah hello…I don’t sit in the car for over an hour, having to pee and drinking more water for my health…She then says, “I need to get the dr’s okay.” So she goes over to Dr W’s office as I’m trying really hard not to lose it and then comes back saying “They can’t approve it, you already did one in December.”

What the FRENCH toast….I head over to Dr W’s office (the other side of the lab) and say, Dr K wants me to have this done each and every time I do the other testing…she replies, “Well Dr W isn’t here, so if that’s the case, Dr K will have to okay it….”
At this point, my sample is almost ready to be all over the floor. I turn to the lab gal hand her my phone with Dr K’s number already ringing, and I say, give me a cup…I need to do this NOW. She replies…”I can’t till the order is given.” I tell her, just give me the cup, I’ll pay for the cup, you’ve already got my visa, what’s the cup cost, $2 bucks? So she hands the cup over and proceeds to wait for Dr K’s office to answer….I happily go do my thing…and as I am finishing…the lab gals yells through the door…it’s approved….ugh..the things one must go through….

I head to the office, feeling pretty out of it, and needing fuel…needing juice, needing food…and to just sit down…the day turned out pretty good. Heather came over for lunch and we just sat and chatted about stuff, stamping, Rico, stamping…crazy people, exercise…fun fun times…

I headed home….and got ready for my triple shot of workouts with RICO…Wed, Thurs and Friday….

Here we go again...

WOW...the last few days have just flown on by...like a winter storm watch. Friday was one of those days...it ended up okay Heather and I had been emailing back and forth all day. She was having a stamping get together on Saturday and she realized that she needed a few things...so the list was sent back and forth all day...lol, by the time I left work, I had a list of things to pick up and or take to Heathers and I needed to get a few things too...The list included not only bringing me, but Rico too...lol...I did all the errands and headed home with a bunch of fruit to make salad for Heather's party. The evening turned out rather uneventful and I actually got some rest.

Saturday arrived way too early....I got ready and got everything loaded...and then I hit the road...I decided to stop on the way at Joann's and grab some easter grass and eggs. I finally made it down the 169 to MV...baby!!! And what fun we had. It's always fun getting together with the gals at Heather's. Jessica brought Brandon, Heather's kids Chloe and Broken (aka Evan) were there. We had such fun...lots of laughs, stamping, fun times...and good fruit salad and other goodies!!! I had a lot of fun teaching Chloe how to snap her fingers, how to wink and flick...Poor broken....he replied to me...I'm not broken anymore...then I told him all about my nephew Danen aka LP/Little Pumpkin and said well I could give you a nickname like that...he replied...no Broken's okay. Chloe kept saying to me...You're funney...hummm not sure that's the crowd I'm looking for you know the 4-15 age group...but maybe if one's got a cute single dad that might be my ticket in...lol....too much fun...I couldn't believe how fast the day was going...the next thing I knew it was 4pm....what??? Where did the day go??? We did make some pretty cute Easter things...I'll post those later....and just think...the day wasn't over yet....

As I was leaving...I called my buddy to go see a movie....National Treasure...Book of Secrets...yeah Nick Cage. My buddy works at the theatre and left me a pass...yeah!!! I got there a bit early so I headed to get some dinner....perhaps a mistake. As I got sooo sick around 2am - UGH!!!! Anyways...the movie was wonderful....and I got home around 10pm....and hit the sack...only to be awoken with a very upset tummy....ugh for about 5 hours I was up and down...and not liking life....I finally got to sleep around 7am. I woke again about 11 and called "the rents" and bailed out of visiting...I didn't even go to church...ugh...I suck! Anyways...I chilled most of the day...and finally around 8pm started to feel better.

Monday was a freaky day. No workout....still had to lay low...don't like laying low....Wednesday is gonna be a tough workout....ugh....made it through the day and headed home....took it pretty easy still as I had all my labs to do Tuesday morning....

I totally suck! I left you all hanging for a week...bad blogger bad! LOL...okay lets see if we can ketchup...tee hee...

I had a busy day on Friday...and then I headed out to see Sally...what a great meeting...she always brings it back together...and helps keep me in focus...

Saturday I had a very busy day. I got up early and went grocery shopping...got stuff for the dinner party...then I came home, made breakfast and talked to Debbie from work...then got ready. Headed down to Renton for the party for baby Emily. TOTALLY had a blast...then I headed home, got stuff ready for the dinner party and headed out...up to Ronda and Jared's...it was a fantastic time. I prepared a huge spinach/mushroom/onion salad and a big loaf of garlic bread and then sweet Grandma's cheesy bread. The seating arrangement was interesting. I ended up sitting next to Dave. Now Dave's a great guy...and a good sport...and I proclaimed at the beginning of dinner that Dave would be my designated Significant Other for the evening...lol...and he totally played the part...lots of laughs and good times. The kids were a riot..and the food, fellowship was a great time. Got home rather late...

When I was leaving for church there was a note on my car from "V" great...sweet....I read it, and promptly crumpled it up and left it on the garage floor...incase he came back. *snort* I know what a witch...oh well...it felt good! Had a great day at church with my class afterwards, then I headed up and met a good friend for lunch did a few errands and off to the "rents" had a great visit with them...and then off again I was...I stopped and did a bit of grocery shopping...and then upstairs....whew...what a day...I figured out I was really only home for about 3 hours (not sleeping or getting ready) over the weekend...what the French toast? LOL!

Monday and Tuesday B-rad and I pooled...totally fun - we had a bit of snow...but nothing big..it was more fun listening to the newscasters and their WINTER STORM WATCH 08...lol... Let's see what else fun happened? Oh yeah...Heather and I went to dinner at Applebee's and saw 27 Dresses...totally fun time!!! I made my own very strong lemonade at Applebee's so strong that I needed some Splenda...lol....it was pretty funny....Let's see what else...oh I've been slammed at work, the owners came in...and what else....hummm oh yea...I get to be a meanie tonight...

Da Da Duh....I have to deliver rent increases....ugh...not looking forward to the fallout of that...oh well...Oh yeah...Friday is my last low key workout...yeah....

I go and take my 3month tests (blood/protein) on Tuesday...and then RICO and I are gonna rock the party that rocks the body! Wahoo....Wednesday the goal is 4 exercises, 15 reps, 6 sets...Thursday 8 sets and Friday 10 sets...wahoo...back to kicking butt and taking names!!!

Anyways.....Oh I forgot....I purchased a cool poster....can't wait til it get's here....it's pretty funny and I'm gonna hang it up at work...as soon as it gets here...photos will be taken!

Regrets are a waste of time...they're your past cripling you in your future. AND I AM STRONGER!!!!!

And besides...I've got lots of fun things planned this weekend...but.....sssshhhhh they are a secret...I'll fill you in on Monday (after "V" leaves town).

SO I'm not sure which I'm more freaked out about or distrubed by...

A - the fact that my ex-husband called
B - the fact that the ringtone didn't sound
C- that I answered the phone
D - the fact that he proceeded to tell me that he just started seeing this chick this week, and as they were getting up this morning he thinks that her sister is this other chick he's been seeing on and off again for over a year
E - the fact that he told me he hadn't had a real connection like that since me
F - the fact that I didn't hang up
G - the last but most important - the fact that "V" is coming to town this weekend and wants to see me

I want (a smoke, a stiff drink, chocolate...) something NOW.

UGH.

The Good, the Bad, the Shots?

So you all know I’m about caring and sharing right? Well, I was on the phone this morning discussing the fact that I was getting my last series of synvisc shots today and the question was posed…You are gonna take a picture right? I wanna see. I was like – Really? So I thought about it and realized if I’m gonna ever really document this journey of mine, I need the good, the bad and the shots? Eh..Ugly. So here you go…The pictures are in the next post below this...I wanted to send out a public service announcement for the weak of heart or needles...lol!

The first image is of my prepped knee, the second, shot number one to numb away…and the third…the synvisc or as I refer to it WD-40 for the knees. Mind you this is only one knee...I've been having this done to both of my knees and it is a three week series...one per knee per week for three weeks....special eh? lol...

I had a great fantastic visit with Dr. Mike…like duh? And I just love how Dr. Mike gets me ready…he always says…You’re are gonna feel a poke, a burn, and then fullness…and then he says…poke….burn….filling up…he’s sooo funny! Anyways…I told him about going up the stairs like a normal person yesterday 2xs boy was I excited…and he says…hey now…take it easy…no marathon’s yet…lol…

SO here’s to frozen peas…and no pain!
